FECON wins bids in more big projects

FECON JSC has been chosen as a subcontractor by Hyundai-Ghella for a numerous of packages of Metroline No. 3 Nhon-Hanoi Station section with a total value of more than $13.6 million. With over $9 million of successful bidding packages at Hoa Phat Steel Factory (Dung Quat) and Quang Ngai Paper Mill, until now FECON has signed bidding contracts with the total value of more than $22.7 million.   Since June 2017, FECON has officially become the contractor for pile executing from Kim Ma - Cat Linh - Quoc Tu Giam - Tran Hung Dao with a package of nearly $1.9 million of Hanoi Metroline No. 3 Project. Shortly afterwards, FECON also received the letter of award for diaphragm wall execution with the value of over $2.3 million and bored pile with the value of more than $1.4 million. Thus, the total value for pile work of this project has reached more than $5.6 million. Recently, FECON has been selected to participate in two other packages by Hyundai-Ghella, including monitoring and earth working, with the value is over $7.9 million. These packages are considered quite more complex, so many contractors are hesitant about deciding to participate in the project. However, FECON did not have much difficulty to approach the project. Besides, the main contractor also highly appreciates the company's capacity and experience through the underground projects FECON has previously executed. In May 2017, FECON became the first Vietnamese contractor to operate TBM (Tunneling Boring Machine) at HCMC Metroline No.1 Ben Thanh-Suoi Tien section under the guidance and technology transfer of Japanese experts. Moreover, since 2014, FECON has also undertaken soil and foundation improvement for this project and soil investigating and foundation testing for Hanoi Metroline No.3. Since 2015, FECON has built up a strong network of skillful staffs including experts, engineers, and set up a subsidiary company specializing in underground construction. Not only concentrating on human resource, FECON has also invested in the most advanced construction equipment in order to be able to execute this key project fully. Especially, with the aim of becoming a pioneer contractor for the application of advanced technologies in  underground construction, FECON  is going to apply a special kind of steel sheet pile with the width up to 600mm (typically use the 400mm one in Vietnam) for Metroline Ha Noi No.3 projects. In July 2017, besides bidding packages at Metroline Ha Noi No.3, FECON successfully approached another large-scale project named Hoa Phat Dung Quat Steel with integrated packages worth roughly $5.4 million. This is a large project with the investment of nearly $2.3 billion and is the second steel complex of Hoa Phat Group along with the first complex in Hai Duong. In addition, the company also received another tender package at the Quang Ngai Pulp project worth about $4.2 million.
