PARK HYATT Phu Quoc Project – The beginning on the road to conquer sea construction Projects of FPL

On April 4th 2022, FPL have been officially received 2 bidding packages in Park Hyatt Phu Quoc Project with 2 construction items including “ Demolition of wharf, house on wharf, supply and construction of pile driving” and  “Construction of the structure of the bridge, the dock, the bridge connecting the restaurant area” by BIM Foods Joint Stock. These 2 packages have an estimated value of nearly VND 30 billion and expected to be built within 100 days. The overall scale of this project is 65 hectare that was developted and led by BIM Group and Hyatt Hotels Corporation consists of 6-star coastal villa area located between Tau Ru and Mui Xep, Duong To commune, in the southwest of Phu Quoc island, Kien Giang province.

The Project Executives had to dealing with several difficulties in the implementation process to solve extreme weather and terrain problems. From the beginning of demolition phase, the weather is entering stormy season leading to the difficulties of finding potential Subcontractors. In 2th  phase of this package, complicated terrain – geology alongs with rainy weather and big waves lead to the construction works even more hindered and commonly had to taking ships and barges to shelter from storms on site.

Due to the difficulties encountered in actual implementation, by the approvement of  Investor, The Project Executive Board has flexibly changed the construction plan to suit the actual situation (replacing 800T barge and 80T chain crane by 1600T barge and 200T chain crane respectively), ensure safety standards on site. In addition, an additional 1000 ton barge and 80 ton chain crane, added one more 50 ton chain crane shall be mobilized to contruct the border area between the shore and the shallow water level due to the erratic rise and fall of the water surface. Total pile construction volume is 291 pile center, equivalent to 3000m of pile material. Over these hardships, on August 21st, Phase 1 of this bidding package has been completed on schedule.

On these days beginning 2th phase of packages, Project executives quickly gather materials and equipment on site, concentrate on finding subcontractors and implementing as soon as official construction drawings are available. The second stage project is expected to be deploy favorably and successfully ahead of schedule by our great effort and enthusiasm. This project will be a landmark that company step by step on the path of conquering construction projects on the sea of FPL in the future that affirming FPL’s ability to implement technically pile construction.
