Vinh Hao 6 Solar Power Plant officially begins commercial operation

The commercial operation of Vinh Hao 6 Solar Power Plant marks an important milestone for FECON moving toward to develop infrastructure investment projects.

According to information from the Electricity Power Trading Company (EVN EPTC), after completing chain of testing and necessary procedures, Vinh Hao 6 Solar Power Plant began commercial operation since 10:00 AM on June 18, 2019.

Vinh Hao 6 Solar Power Plant which has been invested by FECON and Acwa Power (Saudi Arabic), has a total investment of 1,361 billion VND, on an area of ​​60 ha with a total capacity of 50 MWp.

Vinh Hao 6 began its construction from October 2018. After over 6 months of construction, the project has succeeded in energization since 4th Jun. This is the first project in Binh Thuan to complete the inspection and energization for one day; power on on 7th June and completed COD procedures on 18th June

The project is expected to provide 83 million KWh/year to the national grid. Thus, Vinh Hao 6 solar power plant has finished before the deadline of June 30 to receive the preferential price of 9.35 cents / kWh for 20 years of operating.

Being the first energy investment project of FECON in the strategy of “walking on two legs” – deploying in parallel two areas of Investment and Construction, the commercial operation of Vinh Hao 6 Solar Power Plant is meaningful for FECON.

Mr. Pham Viet Khoa, Chairman of FECON assessed that this event is an important milestone for FECON to strengthen its belief and take one step further and more radical aiming to implement the investment strategy in energy infrastructure in the next 5 years (2019 – 2023).


After the commercial operation of Vinh Hao 6 Solar Power Plant, FECON and Acwa Power are expected to jointly promote the implementation of phase 2 investment of this project, in which combine wind and solar project with a capacity of about 100 MW.

Along with Vinh Hao 6, FECON is also co-operating with Acwa Power and other partners keep on researching and developing solar and wind power investment projects in Dak Lak, Gia Lai, Kon Tum, Ben Tre and Binh Phuoc.

Besides investment projects, FECON is also implementing construction activities in many renewable energy projects, including Sunseap Solar Power Plant (Ninh Thuan), Hong Phong Solar Power (Binh Thuan ), Son My Solar Power …. FECON’s goal is to become a general contractor, capable of implementing EPC for energy projects, including projects invested by FECON and bidding projects in the market.
