Top ten remarkable milestones of FECON in 2014

2014 is a pivotal year for FECON Foundation Engineering and Underground Construction JSC with a lot of significant strategic events. Following are ten remarkable milestones at a glance: 1.  Statement of strategy to 2020: To become the leading corporate group in infrastructure in Vietnam 2014 is an important milestone when the goal to become the leading company in foundation engineering and underground construction has been realized. With the available strengths together with resources mobilized from partners, FECON has set the goal “TO BECOME THE LEADING CORPORATE GROUP IN INFRASTRUCTURE IN 2020”. 2.  Strategic cooperation with leading corporations in infrastructure in Vietnam With the motto of synergy to fulfill great goals, FECON has cooperated with different strategic partners in order to provide construction technical services from designing to constructing, at the same time has invested in key infrastructure projects. In details, FECON has become strategic shareholder of Transport Engineering Design Inc (TEDI), Civil Engineering Construction Corporation No.1 (CIENCO 1), has signed strategic cooperation agreement with COTEC Construction Joint Stock Company (COTECCONS), University of Transport Technology, and established FCC Infrastructure Investment JSC (joint venture of FECON-CIENCO1-COTECCONS). 3. Ongoing expansion and development of business scale and areas In addition to the 3 strengths of FECON, the year 2014 has marked the expansion of FECON’s business to: Infrastructure investment, Underground construction, Road and Port construction, Mining and construction material supply… Together with this is the establishment of joint venture, associated companies namely FCC Infrastructure Investment JSC, FECON Underground Construction JSC, FECON – Quang Anh Drilling JSC, KANAMOTO-FECON Construction Equipment Rental JSC, FECON –BMT Joint Stock Company. 4.   Agreement of strategic cooperation with big financial partners In the year 2014, FECON strengthened and broadened cooperation to increase financial capability by signing agreement of strategic cooperation with Development Bank of Japan (DBJ), Bank of Investment and Development of Vietnam BIDV, VietinBank and Vietcombank. 5.  Operation of SAP ERP system – Enterprise Resources Planning SAP ERP (Enterprise Resource Planning) Project was implemented by FECON and FPT IS by July 2014 and officially “GOLIVE” on January, 2nd 2015. With the investment amount up to VND25 billions, FECON believes SAP ERP  project is a step forward to strongly improve management capability and to optimize resources for FECON, especially in the context of highly fluctuating market. 6.   Commencement of National Highway No.1, Phu Ly city bypass section and National Highway No.1 pavement strengthening project, passing Ha Nam province section. This is the first infrastructure project implemented by joint name FCC (FECON-CIENCO 1-COTECCONS), with total investment up to nearly VND2.000 billion. This is also the first project within FECON’s infrastructure development strategy and the first step to realize the goal to become a leading corporate group in infrastructure of Vietnam in 2020.  7. More bids won in big and national key projects In 2014, with proven quality credit, progress commitment, professional construction management, FECON continuously won bids of national key projects such as Thai Binh 1 thermal power plant, Samsung plant, Vinh Tan thermal power plant, Nghi Sơn oil refinery plant, Da Nang – Quang Ngai highway… 8. FECON’s 10 year anniversary FECON’s 10 year anniversary is one of the most important and remarkable event of FECON in 2014, marking a significant turning point on the way to sustainable and long term development of the company. To prepare for the ceremony, the entire FECON system gave their best effort to practice in several months. Beside the great concert which was carefully and grandiosely planned, many activities on the sidelines such as the writing contest “I love FECON”, Sport tournament with 10 subjects… also attracted the attention and participation of numerous employees of the company, creating a successful ceremony, leaving deep imprints. 9.  Prestigious awards won In 2014, FECON honourably received many great prizes from prestigious organizations, namely “The 3  best-performing companies in Vietnam 2014”, “Top 50 listed companies” organized by Forbes Vietnam, Young Entrepreneur of the Year Award by Ernst & Young. Especially, Chairman Pham Viet Khoa is one of the new “Red Star 2014”, honored by “Red star award for 100 Elite entrepreneurs in Vietnam”. 10. Innovation in internal communications and Youth Union activities In 2014, internal communication activities actively took place, remarkably the issuance of the internal magazine “The Conquering Cricket” and internal website. Besides, gratitude activities for the community such as “Yong FECONers toward Truong Sa”, “Gratitude journey to Quang Tri – Ly Son island”,  Free medical examination and drugs, handing scholarship to poor pupils-students with good will in Nam Dinh province or “Warm clothes to mountainous remote area” trip to Ha Giang…
