FECON - 10 Outstanding Achievements in 2016

1. REVENUE GROWTH APROXIMATE 30%, REACHING OVER 2000 BILLIONS VND FOR THE 1^ST TIME

The year 2016 marked FECON’s strong growth by winning a series of major projects such as: Complex of resorts, casinos & golf courses project in Hoi An, Quang Ngai Pulp & Paper Factory, Hai Phong LG Displays Factory, Ho Chi Minh Metro Line 1 ... By the end of the year, the output of the whole system reached nearly VND 3,000 billion, revenue reached over VND 2,100 billion and profit after tax was VND 160 billion. In the upcoming 2017, FECON ‘s Board of Directors has strongly committed to try their best efforts to achieve higher growth target than in 2016, continuing to help FECON conquer new heights.  

2. ESTABLISH 3 MORE MEMBER UNITS TO GRADUALLY ACTUALIZE STRATEGIC OBJECTIVES

Towards business development objectives in width and depth, in 2016,  FECON established FECON South JSC to dominate the south market of the urban infrastructure projects, which are being strongly developed  in this dynamic economic region; \FECON- Raito Innovative Geotechnical Engineering JSC (RFI) was also founded with the aim at localizing, transfering Japan’s innovative technologies into Vietnam in the field of underground construction; established FECON ‘s Man Power Center with two important missions: training, developing the leading force, managements and staffs throughout the system as well as supplying high-quality human resources for foreign partners in Vietnam.  

3. BREAKTHROUGH IN ORGANIZATION STRUCTURE FOR BUSINESS DEVELOPMENT

With the appointment of 4 Deputy CEO in charge of 4 ​​core business, 4 project departments and changing Director of FECON Infrastructure JSC, in 2016, FECON created a new administrative platform, focusing on economic development goals according to the strategic arrays. This change is aimed at better decentralization for each leadership position in business development and project management to ensure revenue profit growth for sustainable development; keep pace with changes in the market, pave the stronger development for the upcoming time. Besides, in 2016, Procurement Department was restructured in order to widen the network of vendors/suppliers, ensure available resources to serve major projects timely at the lowest cost. Cashflow management Committee was also established to optimize cost and boost cash flow of each project, from preparation to the completion of construction and debt retirement.  

4. ENHANCE MANAGEMENT CAPACITY OF LEADERS & MANAGERS IN THE WHOLE SYSTEM

During the difficult period of the economy, each enterprise needs not only a right business strategybut also a professional management & leadership team. Thus, the "Leader and Change" Campaign was launched early at the beginning of the year and the highlight is Manager Summit event, organised in June 2016 with the participation of 135 leaders and managers throughout the system. Within 3 working sessions, the conference discussed urgent issues in this core team, along with emphasizing the role of each leader, manager in the right perception about psychosphere to deploy the strategic objectives of the company.   5. CREATE POSITIVE EFFECTS ON DEPLOYING & BUILDINGCORPORATE CULTURE In 2016, FECON officially brought Code of Conduct into practice with a series of specific actions such as: surveying , reporting and building action campaigns ... In particular, upward value ​​is taken priority for GoLive with “I talk - Leader listen” Campaign, “Thanks to partners” Campaign... Initial results have attracted attentions and responses from the majority of staffs across the system. Certainly in 2017, 5 Core Values will be spreaded widely to over 1,800  members of FECON.  

6. BOT PHU LY FINISH AHEAD OF SCHEDULE, BEGIN OPERATING AND EXPLOITING

On 24^th Nov 2016,  BOT Highway 1 Bypass Phu Ly City - Ha Nam Project was officially put into operation with toll reduction rates from 25-30% - the lowest toll rate compared with the stations on Highway 1. Started from Oct 2014,, this is the first transport infrastructure project that FECON invested and directly executed. After more than 25 months of execution, BOT Phu Ly completed ahead of schedule, previous 3 months behind schedule. The project is an ideal starting point help FECON confident to assert themselves in the next infrastructure investment projects.  

7. COMPLETING THE 1^ST PROJECT IN FOREIGN MARKET - CREATING PREMISE TO DEVELOP SOUTH EAST ASIA MARKET

After more than 2 months of preparation and nearly six months of construction, the soil improvement package for the “Expanding Thilawa Internetional Port of Myanmar” project has been completed, bringing more than VND 40 billion to to FECON Rainbow ‘s revenue and nearly VND 10 billion ofprofit. This is the first project of FECON in Myanmar and is also a crucial step for FECON’s aim at expanding overseas market, especially Southeast Asia countries. In 2017, beside new packages implemented in “Expanding Thilawa Internetional Port of Myanmar” project, FECON Rainbow is approaching a number of projects in Myanmar and Singapore with positive signals.  

8. STRONG STEPS IN RESEARCHING & DEVELOPING PROJECTS

In 2016, the Board of Management and Committee of Project Development has made strategic steps for research and project development activities in Hanoi, Ho Chi Minh City and the central region by researching 5 key transport infrastructure projects, 2 urban waste treatment projects, 3 solar power projects with foreign partners. With the motto to mobilize strong financial resources and advanced technology to be able to quickly deploy the investment; FECON and partners are towards high effective projects in the areas of essential infrastructure in order to promote business efficiency for the company and contribute to the sustainable economic development.  

9. IMPORTANT LANDMARKS IN RESEARCH AND SCIENCE - TECHNOLOGY DEVELOPMENT ACTIVITIES

In 2016, the research and science – technology development activities have been deployed continuously and effectively such as: innovative initiatives, researching scientific topics and organizing GEOTEC HANOI 2016 International Conference. Specifically, related to the solar sector, last year, FECON launched the Solar Power Contest - "technical solutions for structural scaffold solar cells on the lake" and attracted muchattention of engineers across the system. Many unique, high applicabley ideas with design utilizing recycled materials, friendly with environment, have been sent to the Organizing Committee. Besides, innovative initiative movement also received 128 ideas submitted to the Council of Scientists, including 100 ideas from FECON Mining. 12 of them whichcan be applied in practical work to improve productivity &quality have been selected for the final round. Especially, ThatGEOTEC HANOI 2016 has had great success with the number of participants up to 600 people from 31 countries, 5 ketnote lectures from 5 world leading scientists from 4 continents together with the participation of 85 authors, published a 1200 page proceedingsincluding 145 full papers haspartly confirmed the reputation and trademark of FECON in international market.  

10. COMMUNITY ACTIVITIES HAS BECOME INCREASINGLY INTENSIVE

Although business activities still have difficulties, FECON has always preserved and promoted our tradition as “for the Community” and considered it as our missionas  ". In 2016, FECON continued to participate actively in annual social activities such as: Heath care, examination and drugs distribution for the elderly programs; Gratitude activities on 27/7 Day; sponsoring scholarships for  poor gifted students and others such as: donating to build chools at some remote areas in Ha Giang and supporting  people suffering from the historic floods in the Centralin September ... Furthermore, FECON has continued to accompany with national, international programs such as: successfully holding the World Championships Vietnam Traditional Martial “Vocotruyen”for the first time in Ho Chi Minh City with Federation of Vocotruyen Vietnam, participating in National Startup  Program organized by VCCI, joining National Conference on Traffic Safety held by Nhan Dan Newspaper ... These activities represent for humanity and united spirit of FECON, towards long-term objectives :Benefit to country and people, in accordance with FECON’s core values ​​and business philosophy.
