On April 3, FPL held a groundbreaking ceremony for "Diaphragm wall of train station no. 11 - phase 2" under package CP-03 in Hanoi. This is a bidding package that FPL was fully assigned by FECON Corporation after continuously proving its construction capacity. Attending the groundbreaking ceremony were Mr. Bui Mon Bach - Director of FPL, Pham Thanh Tam - Head of FPL Technical Department along with representatives of the Executive Board and representatives of General Contractor HGU. FPL plans to mobilize 68 personnel to carry out the project, including 10 engineers in the Executive Board, 8 machine drivers and 50 workers with the goal of completing the project around early July.

After more than 1 month of receiving and implementing the construction package, the Project Management Board has been maintaining the construction work on schedule. At Station 11, according to the design, there will be 33 panels weighing from 15 - 33.5 tons with a length of 29 m underground. Total expected concrete volume is more than 7,000 m3.

On the night of April 6, at package CP 03, construction item D - Wall, FPL constructed and lowered the first steel cage out of a total of 61 steel cages in the diaphragm wall design. The steel cage weighs 16 tons and measures 2.8m x 1.2m x 29m. This is the steel cage with the smallest volume out of a total of 61 cages that will be taken down in the near future. However, all construction work is still planned to ensure safety during the process of raising and lowering the steel cage.

The successful lowering of the first steel cage will also help the project team have more confidence to proceed with lowering the next steel cages, especially the largest steel cage weighing 33.5 tons. To prepare for the next steel cages, there are currently about 30 workers working continuously on site.
